Ear candling during pregnancy?
While ear candling doesn't have any known negative effects on the baby or the mother, it's important to avoid candles scented with clary sage and rosemary essential oils during pregnancy. If the mother feels uncomfortable with the idea of ear candling, it’s best to avoid it. Always consult a doctor or naturopath prior to starting therapy.

Can I apply ear candles on children?
Children often experience earaches or related issues. Naturhelix manufactures smaller ear candles ideal for children. However, in the case of serious or chronic conditions, consult your doctor. Only use ear candles on children who can remain still for about 15 minutes (storytelling helps!) and understand not to touch the candle during the treatment. Avoid use on children under 3 years of age.

When is ear candling contraindicated?
- On children under 3 years of age
- In case of allergy to the ingredients
- In case of ear tumours or cysts
- In case of infection or inflammation in the outer ear
- After ear surgery
If there is a grommet, drain, cochlear implant, or an artificial/injured eardrum present, please apply the candle behind the earlobe instead.
